Why Not Let The Dealership Do It ?
After all they can surely be trusted to supply your new car – that has most likely cost a huge amount of money – to the best standard the car will ever be on collection? Unfortunately this couldn’t be further from the truth in the majority of cases. In my long experience standards at dealerships have dropped considerably in recent years. There are many reasons perhaps for this, but my opinion is that dealerships just don’t have the time or inhouse skill to spend hours preparing your car. Quite often your car won’t even be prepared inhouse and a team of outside basically skilled valeters given the task of getting through a number of cars in a days timeframe.
The results at best seem to be a fairly lifeless finish and all too commonly the paintwork has light scratches and swirls from a bad wash process to start with. I am now seeing cars that have been machine polished with the incorrect grade of compounds and pads, leaving behind buffer trails and holograms in the paintwork.
