Undoing yet more dealership valeting errors on a new car.
An existing client recently purchased this lovely new Range Rover Sport. On collection he noticed that the paintwork was quite swirly (light scratches) so the dealership agreed that he could get it sorted out elsewhere (me).
After getting the inspection light on the car it became clear that for some reason an attempt (I say that politely) had been made to machine polish 1 side of the vehicle. This had left numerous buffer trails that needed correcting along with just general light swirling on much of the bodywork.
I don’t think machine polishing is that difficult, but then I have had a few years of experience. Selecting the right pad and compound for the job is critical. What tends to happen is that an inexperienced valeter will often just pick up a hard pad and an aggressive compound to correct defects but not then go down a grade or two both in pads and compounds to refine the finish. This results in buffer trails and holograms left in the paintwork.
So the pressure was on to refine the paintwork, apply my 5yr Ceramic Graphene Coating, Wheel Ceramic, Glass Ceramic, Fabric Ceramic and Leather Ceramic all within a day.
Thankfully an early start and warm dry weather certainly helped. And although I say it myself, the results were stunning.
