2 days is required as a minimum. Yes that’s right! Unlike perhaps elsewhere I take 1 day to fully prepare your car prior to coating – even if it is brand new!
Let me explain briefly. A professional coating cures harder than the existing paintwork and with that gives you a harder shield against the birds doing their thing, tree sap and general contaminants. It also looks good, REALLY GOOD – its a deep glass like finish that washes far easier than not having a coating so thus reduces your wash time and there is no need for polishes or waxes. It really is a case of wash, dry and it’s back to how it was when first coated. So it makes absolute sense to ensure the paintwork is as swirl and scratch free (incredible as it sounds this applies to brand new cars too) as possible and absolutely spotless prior to a coating. This includes removing any polishes, waxes or whatever pre-handover sauce has been used.
Without proper preparation the coating will not bond correctly and lead to early failure.
